If you’ve had your fill of the outdoors and you need to retreat inside for a few air-conditioned hours, try some of Albuquerque’s most kid-friendly museums. The NM Museum of Natural History & Science has two things that kids love: dinosaurs and stars. Kids love to go through and see the giant dinosaurs that roamed what is now New Mexico, then check out the awesome planetarium. Explora, the hands-on science center, is full of interactive exhibits. You’ll be surprised how much fun kids will have making giant soap bubbles! At the Balloon Museum kids can go into a gondola and see what it would be like to fly a balloon. At the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center there is a hands-on learning house, where docents talk to the kids about how pueblo children have lived in different historical eras.
