If you’ve had your fill of the outdoors and you need to retreat inside for a few air-conditioned hours, try some of Albuquerque’s most kid-friendly museums. The NM Museum of Natural History & Science has two things that kids love: dinosaurs and stars. Kids love to go through and see the giant dinosaurs that roamed what is now New Mexico, then check out the awesome planetarium. Explora, the hands-on science center, is full of interactive exhibits. You’ll be surprised how much fun kids will have making giant soap bubbles! At the Balloon Museum kids can go into a gondola and see what it would be like to fly a balloon. At the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center there is a hands-on learning house, where docents talk to the kids about how pueblo children have lived in different historical eras. And the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History is perfect for older kids who are interested in science and rockets. These are only a few of the 16 museums Albuquerque has to offer.
