Historic Nob Hill District
Include Nob Hill in your historic Route 66 travel plans. One of the first centralized shopping areas west of the Mississippi, Nob Hill is now a thriving residential and commercial district, housing boutiques, art galleries and restaurants. See Nob Hill for more information.
University of New Mexico
Founded in 1889, UNM is the state's largest university with over 32,000 students. Featuring Pueblo Revival architecture, and relaxing ponds and landscaping, the campus also houses museums: the Fine Arts Museum, the Johnson Gallery of Contemporary Art, Maxwell Museum of Anthropology, and the Museum of Geology & Meteoritics. KiMo Theatre and Art Gallery
This beautiful historic theater, which recently underwent an extensive renovation, was originally built to house vaudeville acts. It is famous for its Pueblo Deco architecture, which can be particularly noticed in the murals and plaster ceilings. See the KiMo Theatre
