The Eastside area leads all the way to the foothills of the Sandia Mountains, where you can board the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway for a 15-minute “flight” to the 10,378 ft. summit. Sandia Peak is a popular destination for skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing in the winter, and biking and hiking in the summer. The foothills of the Sandia Mountains are perfect for picnicking and hiking. You can take a leisurely walk or challenge yourself to climb the La Luz trail from the foothills to the peak. Kids will love a trip to the Hinkle Family Fun Center, where you can all race go carts, play laser tag or miniature golf, or play games in the arcade. Albuquerque’s Jewish Community Center has a state-of-the-art fitness center and welcomes members of any of the other 275 Jewish Community Centers in North America.

There are many, many dining options in this large section of the city, from French bakeries to Mexican taquerias, brick oven pizzerias and Vietnamese cafes. Lodging options are similarly diverse.
