Concert: Mariachi Alma de Albuquerque

Mariachi Alma de Albuquerque kicks off the Cinco de Mayo weekend in Rio Grande Valley with a performance at the Alvarado Transportation Center. The five member group is based out of Los Lunas and performs with the traditional arrangement of two trumpets, one violin, a guitarron and a vihuela. Weather-permitting, it will stroll the fountain area in front of the Alvarado with music ranging from rancheras, sones and valses to huapangos and polkas. This is the same group known for its outstanding performances at the Route 66 Casino Buffet Sunday brunch and at weddings, parties and corporate events throughout New Mexico. Come celebrate the music that is often referred to as “the heart and soul of Mexico.”
