Festival Flamenco International De Albuquerque
In 1987, the College of Fine Arts at the University of New Mexico in partnership with the National Institute of Flamenco, created Festival Flamenco to celebrate the College’s 50th anniversary, as well as to afford students the access to world-class teachers and performances, presented by the premier flamenco artists in Spain. Now in its 25th year, Festival Flamenco hosts over 50 Spanish artists, 400 workshop participants, and over 5,000 theater patrons annually, in venues such as the University of New Mexico and the National Hispanic Cultural Center.
Each year, Festival Flamenco stimulates our creative economy by:
Hosting over 5,000 attendees with 250 – 300 coming from out of town.
Presenting four world-renowned flamenco companies coming from Spain.
Organizes over 20 workshops covering all aspects of flamenco dance, music and song.
Presenting nine performances at Rodey Theatre and the National Hispanic Cultural Center, including two gala performances and VIP events.
Impacting our economy: students spend an average of $1,500 for five days of workshops and performances, in addition to accommodations and daily expenses.
Events will be held at both the National Hispanic Cultural Center and
Rodey Theatre at UNM campus. Please visit our website ffinm.org for
