Unraveling Tradition / Restoration: Exhibition
516 ARTS presents two concurrent exhibitions in conjunction with Convergence Albuquerque 2010, the Handweavers Guild of America’s convention in Albuquerque (July 18 – 24). Unraveling Tradition in the downstairs gallery is curated by 516 ARTS, and Restoration in the upstairs gallery is curated by Rufus Cohen.

Description:
Unraveling Tradition (Contemporary Artists Working with Fiber Media) is a group exhibition featuring artists from across the United States who convey contemporary ideas and concerns using traditional handwork techniques such as weaving, sewing, embroidery, felting, knitting and crochet.
Restoration (Creative Work by Textile Conservators and Restorers) brings together the work of a dozen artists from around the country, all of whom have worked as behind-the-scenes restorers of ancient and antique textile art.

Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is a world-renowned attraction and destination for kids of all ages.
