Albuquerque Summer Fun

The city of Albuquerque heats up during the summertime with an array of concerts, festivals, markets and fun.

Open-Air Markets and Festivals

Treat yourself to the unique experience of a New Mexican outdoor market. Take a Sunday stroll through Corrales where you’ll find a variety of art, music and food, stop by Tijeras to shop for jewelry, pottery and fine art or visit Albuquerque’s downtown for the only open-air market that features 100% locally grown New Mexico produce.  
 

Summer Music

Savor Albuquerque
A new signature event in the downtown area showcasing the best of Albuquerque's arts and culture including the Festival Flamenco Internacional de Alburquerque.  June 7-16, 2012.
 
Mariachi Spectacular de Albuquerque
Featuring the world's finest and most accomplished mariachi musicians.  July 11-15, 2012.
 
13th Annual Albuquerque Folk Festival
Music, song, dance, storytelling, crafts, performances, workshops, demonstrations and jams. June 2, 2012.
 
New Mexico Jazz Festival
This collaboration effort features more than a dozen concerts in Albuquerque and Santa Fe over an exciting 12-day period July 13-29, 2012.  
 
Ballet Pro Musica Festival
A new festival category, Chamber Music Ballet, which is a partnership between virtuoso musicians and virtuoso dancers from celebrated national companies, marrying live chamber music to classical dance presentations. August 10-12, 2012.
 
Salsa Under the Stars
Hot, hot, hot salsa music under the stars, Fridays at the Albuquerque Museum’s Amphitheater. Doors open at 6:30pm and shows occur rain or shine. Food and beverages for purchase, including full bar service, are provided by the Cooperage Restaurant. June 1-August 10, 2012.

Jazz & Blues Under the Stars
Red hot jazz and cool blues fill the night sky on Saturdays as Jazz & Blues Under the Stars features great performances by local and national groups. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and shows occur rain or shine. Food and beverages for purchase, including full bar service, are provided by the Cooperage Restaurant. June 2-August 11, 2012.
 
Old Town, New Fun
The City’s “Old Town, New Fun” programs present live music up to five nights a week.

Zoo Music Concert Series
Zoo Music showcases regional, national and international talent playing a variety of music.

Summer Nights Concert Series 
Summer Nights musical concerts are performed by local and regional talent in the beautiful setting of the Rio Grande Botanic Garden on Thursday evenings this summer.
 
Summerfest
Albuquerque Summerfest is an outdoor summer festival featuring both local and national music and dance entertainment. Events are held one Saturday a month, May-August from 6-10:30pm at locations throughout Albuquerque.

Summer Thursday Jazz Nights
Summer Thursday Jazz Nights at The Outpost Performance Space feature two jazz bands every Thursday night through August!

Albuquerque Concert Band Summer Series
Free performances of stirring concert band music in beautiful park settings - what a great way to spend a summer evening! The Albuquerque Concert Band presents musical interludes throughout the summer months. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets and coolers and relax, dance and listen to the wonderful presentations.

Rapid Ride After Dark Summer Schedule
Stay out late this summer! Ride the Rapid Ride After Dark every Friday and Saturday night until September 26th. The Rapid Ride After Dark runs every 20 minutes from 8pm to 3 am along the 766 Red Line route so come out to enjoy your summer nights and let Rapid Ride do the driving!
