Green Buildings

In
2005, Mayor Martin J. Chávez set a new standard for building and
renovating that requires all city buildings to adhere to standards set
by the U.S. Green Building Council. Building "green" in Albuquerque includes homes and businesses.

The newly renovated La Posada de Albuquerque, renamed
Andaluz, is
green by design.
Heritage Hotels and Resorts has
also developed a going green program for its hotels and employees
including re-usable linens, non-toxic cleaning agents, non-smoking
guestrooms and more.
The Albuquerque Hilton Hotel is
undergoing a comprehensive $14 million “greenovation” that will
incorporate energy and water conservation and feature a fresh,
contemporary Western style inside and out.
