Albuquerque, NM (December 2012) – The Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) is pleased to announce that Albuquerque, New Mexico will host the 2014 Far West Regional Youth Soccer Tournament.

The US Youth Soccer tournament will take place June 14-22, 2014 with matches taking place at the State Farm Bernalillo Soccer Complex just north of Albuquerque. The complex is home to 22 top-notch soccer fields along with two lighted championship fields with seating for 2,000 spectators.

The tournament is expected to generate more than 14,000 hotel room nights to be used by 19,000 players, coaches, parents and fans. The nine-day tournament is expected to generate nearly $5.7 million in direct spending in Albuquerque.

US Youth Soccer is a nationwide body with more 300,000 dedicated coaches and over 3,000,000 youth players ages 5-19. The organization is made up of 55 member state associations. The Far West Region is comprised of the 13 Western US states including Alaska and Hawaii.
