Tijeras Pueblo Archaeological Site

A 1/3 mile self-guided trail with interpretive signage and models offers a glimpse of life in an East Mountain 14th century ancestral pueblo. The indoor interpretive Center currently displays a life-size interactive depiction of an excavated room with activities representing basic archaeological techniques.

Entered into the National Register of Historic Places in 2005, the site is located behind the Sandia Ranger Station at 11776 Highway 337 in Tijeras, NM. From I-40 east, take Exit 175 (Cedar Crest/Tijeras). Take Highway 337 South straight through the light for ½ mile. The ranger station is on the left side of the road.
