The Duke City Improv Festival has invited five guest teams from Phoenix, Denver, Los Angeles, and Chicago to play their improv for you. You will also see many of your favorite local teams. Also featured this year…the "Tour De Ha," an open improv competition where local teams compete for the coveted Rubber Chicken!

Artificial Selection: Art Exhibition Open House

Open house for Artificial Selection art exhibition running April 24-June 26, 2010. Artificial Selection is a group exhibition bringing together art, science, myth and technology. It examines contemporary artists’ responses to the processes of adaptation, mutation and survival. The exhibition features local and national artists with work in photography, painting, sculpture, interactive video, ceramics, installation and robotics.

MarchFourth Marching Band is a mobile big band spectacular, consisting of saxophones, trombones, trumpets and a drum/percussion corps, anchored by electric bass (battery powered). Without guitars or keyboards, M4 "rocks" with the best of them, entertaining the audience with an over-the-top explosion of performance and charisma.

The Relenting: Reading & Book Release Party

A reading and book release party for "The Relenting," a new long-form poem and forthcoming book by Lisa Gill. Based on a true story, Gill will retell an archetypal encounter she had with a rattlesnake in her living room, and this time the snake will speak back! Part poetry, part play, the staged reading will be preceded by various snake songs culled together by DJ Mitch Rayes and it will be followed by live music from th3 e1emental orke5tra. The trio have composed rattling-inspired experimental jazz for the occasion. Come catch the whopper of a true fishtale and help celebrate the book which is forthcoming with New Rivers Press.

Premier Celtic and Baltic instructors are in town all week to teach during the ZoukFest World Music Camp. They will perform in various small ensemble combos in the intimate Outpost Performance Space. Featured artists will include Andy Irvine, Martin Hayes, Moira Smiley and many more.
 
A day of fun and food, unlike any event Albuquerque has ever seen! Watch as 10 restaurants compete in five head-to-head “Iron Chef-style” competitions. In addition, more than 50 restaurants will be serving free tasting samples of fine food and desserts. The event is a fundraiser for The Storehouse , New Mexico’s largest food bank which has been providing needy Albuquerqueans with food and clothing since 1969
